A loan helped a member to expand her fowl run capacity and increase her poultry batch size.

Isell Group's story

Tracy is a 33-year-old married mother of two children in school, living in Southlea Park, a suburb of Harare. She started business in 2016 selling second-hand clothes. When she married, Tracy didn't give up her business, even though her husband was employed and well established.

She joined Thrive in 2017 with two women from her community who shared her vision. They formed a group called "Isell." Tracy used her first loan to expand her clothing business and from the profits she started a poultry business.

At first, Tracy faced a challenge of high mortality as she lacked experience, but with assistance from friends and close monitoring by Thrive loan officers, she managed to find her feet and grow her business.

With constant growth in customers, she intends to use her share of the loan to expand her fowl run capacity and increase her poultry batch size.
