The members of the Gouye Gui Group are some very dynamic women, whose business is buying and selling fish. Most of their husbands are fishermen and when they come back from the sea they give some of the caught fish to the wives so that they can manage the daily household. The women use their revenue to reinforce their business, buying other fish products, so that they can achieve some independence from their husbands.

Le Groupement Gouye Gui est composé de femmes très dynamiques qui travaillent dans l'achat vente de poissons .Généralement les maris sont des pécheurs et à leur retour de la mer ils donnent une partie aux femmes pour la gestion de leur quotidien et ces dernières achètent avec leur moyen pour le renforcement de leur activité . ce prêt va contribuer à l'achat de produits halieutiques et d'avoir une certaine autonomie vis à vis de leur maris.

This loan is administered by UIMCEC, a Kiva Field Partner in Senegal since 2008. UIMCEC is a government-regulated microfinance institution whose mission is to improve the revenue and well-being of families through access to financial services, allowing principally women and young adult micro-entrepreneurs living in rural and semi-rural areas to develop their revenue-generating businesses and supporting them in becoming financially self-sufficient.
