A loan of $350 helped increase merchandise.

Epifania's story

Epifanía is a 47 year old woman who is very loving with her family. She lives in her own house with her 35 year old husband and their two daughters. Yesica is 13, and Nelida is 8. The children are the motivation for all of their efforts.

In San Antonio de Putina (a province in the Puno region) you will find La Mina Rinconada (predominantly populated by miners) town center. That is where Epifanía has her store, where she sells all types of products. Recently she has been having problems meeting the demand for products. The increase in the population has made her supply of merchandise insufficient. What she likes most about her work is talking with her customers. She has been doing this for four years. The most difficult thing is having to put up with the intense cold in the town. In the future she hopes to increase the amount of merchandise she has. She wishes to turn her store into the most important one in the La Rinconada mine.

This is Epifanía’s first loan with MFP. She is prepared to save to be able to make her payments. She does not want to cause problems for her communal bank, where she is one of the happiest and most responsible members. She will use the 1,000 PEN that she is requesting to buy more merchandise to sell in the La Rinconada mine.
