A loan of $800 helped purchase bicycle parts.

Jose Antonio's story

José Antonio M. P. is 45 years old, married, and the father of two adult children of whom one is a university student. He operates a bicycle repair shop and also sells bicycle parts. His business has been serving the population of Bluefields for approximately 25 years.

One of the advantages of his business is that it is only one of two shops in the area to provide repair services to the numerous bicycles that exist within the city. José was the beneficiary of a previous Kiva loan, which has since been repaid. He wants to take this opportunity to thank the Kiva lenders and ADEPHCA for providing that loan.

Like other businesses, he sees more activity during the Christmas season. Many young people and teenagers receive bicycles as Christmas presents, so the demand for spare parts and repair services is much higher during this time of the year.

José will use this loan to purchase the following parts:

• 30 units of bicycle tube #26 @ $2 USD/unit
• 30 units of bicycle tube #24 @ $2 USD/unit
• 60 units of #26 bicycle wheels @ $3 USD/unit
• 50 units of #24 bicycle wheels @ $3 USD/unit
• 40 units of #26 bicycle rims @ $5 USD/unit
• 30 units of #24 bicycle rims @ $5 USD/unit
