The "Los Paisanos" (The Compatriots) group is from the Chimente San Jose community which is 42 kilometers from the city of Totonicapan. This is a very poor community that has been abandoned by the different governments. The group sells clothing in the municipal markets of Patzite and Santa Cruz del Quiche. They state that they have always wanted financing because they are very poor people with no access to banks. They need the financing to improve their quality of life and that of their children. With the funds they intend to stock up on merchandise so that they can meet the requests of their customers.

El grupo los paisanos con de la comunidad de Chimente San Jose a 42 kilometros de municipio de Totonicapan una comunidad muy pobre en donde los gobiernos ha abandonado a dicha comunidad dicho grupo se dedica ha la venta de ropa en los mercados municipales de Patzite y Santa Cruz del Quiche ellos manifiesta que ha querido siempre un credito por ser personas muy pobres no tiene acceso a los bancos, hoy necesitamos del credito para poder mejor su nivel de vida y las de sus hijos con el credito poder surtir su mercaderia para poder cumplir la demanda de sus clientes

About Asociación ASDIR

ASDIR (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral Rural - Association for the Development of Rural Communities) is a community-based organization that works to promote development in the villages and communities where it serves. It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.
