A loan helped a member to purchase an incubator which allows her to hatch eggs to sell.

Team Chicken Group's story

Toriya raises poultry, keeping several types of birds, including broilers, roadrunners, turkeys, boshvelts, and geese. She operates at her house where she built her fowl run, which now has a capacity of 1,000 birds. She sells her chickens in her community area. She has been doing this poultry business for a while and this has helped her in creating a strong customer base.

Toriya stays in Waterfalls, a medium density suburb of Harare. Her business has been adding to her family’s income. Her husband does peanut butter manufacturing at home, as well. Toriya is 55 years old.

Toriya used her last loan to restock chicks and feed. She also extended her fowl run.

As a member of Team Chicken Group, Toriya will use this loan to purchase an incubator, which allows her to hatch eggs since she wants to venture into the business of selling both chicks and raised chickens.
