A loan of $350 helped to buy a bull.

Lidia's story

Lidia is part of the communal bank “Jesús de Nazaret.” She lives in the main district in the province of El Collao, in the department of Puno. She is 35 years old and is married. She has seven children: five sons and two daughters. She has finished elementary school.

For the past year Lidia has worked with el Movimiento Maunela Ramos where she has dedicated herself to the buying and selling of cattle. Her first loan was for 500 Nuevos Soles which she used to buy two sheep because she was not able to buy cattle. At the same time she also farms for personal consumption.

With this credit of 1,000 Nuevos Soles, she will buy one bull to fatten for three months to then sell in the cattle market.

In her communal bank all the woman are punctual and that pleases her.

Lidia wants her children to finish their studies and she wants her business to continue growing so she can help her children in their studies.
