A loan of $1,075 helped to buy fertilizers and other supplies for his crops.

Jesus's story

Jesus S. U., 41, is married and has three children, who are his main priority in life. His children are 16, 12, and 2-years-old, respectively. He wants to buy fertilizer and other supplies to improve his farm's production. His farm is 3.5 hectares of which two are planted with coffee and the rest with corn and beans. He has farmed for several years and wants to see his farm grow. This is his first loan received from FUDECOSUR. He has negotiated loans in the past with state banks but hasn't done so in several years. He had no problems with his property but does wish to see his farm be productive. He also hopes for increased earnings in order to improve his family's economic condition and to be able to send his children to school.

The Foundation for the Development of Southern Communities is dedicated to economically empowering its clients by providing credit and capacitating programs to improve living conditions of micro-entrepreneurs and their children across Southern Costa Rica.
