A loan helped to buy fertilizers to help improve his tea farm.

Benjamin's story

Benjamin is a gallant farmer who resides in the Kericho area of Kenya. He has a lovely farm, but his area's living conditions continue to worsen due to water shortages and poor power connections. For more than 8 years, his main sources of income have been selling milk, eggs, and tea. He is an experienced tea farmer.

Benjamin's biggest challenges are diseases caused by pests and poor quality of tea due to a lack of fertilizers and herbicides. Farmers in the area lack capital to buy fertilizers, pesticides and herbicide, which is why Benjamin decided to join Juhudi Kilimo to access loans that would help him improve his tea farm.

The additional income made possible by this loan will help expand his tea farm and increase his livestock, which will serve as a strong foundation for a bright future. Benjamin fully repaid a previous loan, and says thanks for reading his profile. He hopes for your help and support.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals and farming equipment.
