A loan of $875 helped purchase cattle of better breed.

Lucia's story

Doña Lucia is 46 years old and has been married for 24 years. She is the mother of three children, two sons and a daughter. Lucia has an elementary school education and lives in the District of Ilave, El Collao Province, Department of Puno.

She became a member of the Jesus of Nazareth Communal Bank two years ago. Her first loan of 300 soles was used to increase her capital so that she could buy one head of cattle. She buys and sells livestock along with her husband. Lucia acquires her animals at the fairs in Ilave and sells them in the central village of López.

To continue increasing her capital, she is requesting a new loan of 2500 soles and plans to purchase one head of cattle that is of much better breed.

Lucia hopes that her children will continue their studies and that her business grows even more.
