A loan of $1,800 helped to renovate her greenhouse which grows a variety of produce that she sells in the market.

Maria's story

Maria is 56 years old and from the Singerei district. She is an entrepreneur since 2012 selling vegetables. She already has a greenhouse where she cultivates tomatoes, peppers, parsley and green onion.

Last year, she installed a heating system inside the greenhouse to protect the crops from frost. Maria wants to change the covering film and the carcass of the greenhouse into a modern one.

The Singerei district's marketplace is over-saturated with vegetables and fruits, but ecological vegetables and fruits are requested and always sought after by customers.

The request for Mary's production is steadily increasing and she now has many loyal customers due to the quality of her produce.

Maria asks for the renovation of the greenhouse with this loan from KIVA.

The improvement of the irrigation and ventilation systems will minimize the expenses and increase the produce income.
