Las Mujeres Emprendedoras Group
In this Group: Wendy Carolina, Olga Marina , Gloria Elizabeth, Elena
This group of people resides in Colonia Santa Fe, located in the municipality of San Antonio, Suchitepéquez. Previously, they lived under very difficult conditions because they did not have enough income to cover all the household necessities. Typical expenses included educations for their children, medical care costs, and food for their families, therefore they could not offer them a very bright future. As a result of these needs, they turned to the Association to request a loan to be able to start businesses to help them generate additional income; businesses such as sale of tamales, other food, drinks and tortillas. The effort of this group can been seen through their accomplishments and, likewise, they are very responsible and have known how to invest the loans provided by the ASDIR Association well.

It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
