A loan of $425 helped to buy and sell various kitchen supplies.

Julio Juliao's story

Júlio V. was born in the district of Manjacaze in the province of Gaza in southern Mozambique. He is 30; is married; and is the father of 3 children who are 9, 7, and 7 months. The oldest 2 go to school. He finished studying only through 5th grade due to his parents' lack of financial resources. He lives in his own home with his family and doesn't support anyone besides them. He left Manjacaze for Boane by himself 7 years ago in search of better living conditions. He has his own business. He doesn't have any employees and sells kitchen supplies. He manages to save around 600 meticais a month in his bank account after paying all of his home's expenses. He has never had a loan with another bank. He became familiar with Hluvuku through his friends. This is his 3rd loan, and it is for 12,000 meticais. He will use it to buy products for his business (pots and pans, thermoses, kitchen supplies, etc.) to respond to market demand. His previous loans were for 10,000 meticais and 15,000 meticais, and both were used for the same purpose. In the future, he hopes to request more loans to be able to expand his home so he can provide better living conditions for his family.
