A loan helped to buy a new rickshaw body and seat covers for her husband's rickshaw transportation service so he can earn more income.

Yasmeen's story

Yasmeen is a 43-year-old woman living with her six children and spouse in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is pictured with her husband.

Her husband has been driving a moto rickshaw that did not belong to him. With the help of savings, he has purchased a used moto rickshaw. Its engine is quality and running well, but the body is not quite well and the seat covers need to be replaced. He does not have much money to buy new seat covers. He wants to start driving, but he is looking for a lump sum to buy the rickshaw body and seat covers. Therefore, Yasmeen requested a loan for her husband so that he can buy the new rickshaw body and seat covers, so then he could drive the rickshaw easily and earn greater income for his entire family.

She gives thanks to Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan.
