Señoras Del Sur Group's story

The so-called “Señoras del Sur” (Ladies of the South) are a group of 11 members who have been working with the Pro-Mujer family for about 3.5 years. They meet in the center of Villa Exaltación. Maria T. will be the president in this work cycle. She is 24 years old, married, and has children. Together with her husband, she sells electronic devices in the Senkata region (El Alto). She buys these products wholesale in order to then sell them retail. Maria hopes to obtain higher income in order to be able to save and to obtain an apartment that requires payment up-front, since at the moment she lives in a rental.

The rest of the association currently has different businesses; for example, Carmen sells seasonal fruits, Victoria sells groceries, Limberth is a public transport driver, and Wilma, Maria del Carmen and Veronica make and sell food.

The association “Señoras de Sur” wishes to increase their sales, and for this objective, they need capital in order to purchase merchandise or consumables.
