"Concorde Plus" is a community bank composed of 32 micro-entrepreneurs, including Lutonadio N., who is the leader. They established themselves guaranteeing one another jointly in order to obtain micro-loans via Kiva and the micro-finance institution HOPE RDC with the goal of developing their businesses.

Lutonadio N. has a main business selling cassava flour and cornmeal in the eastern part of Kinshasa. She started this micro-enterprise in 1987. She has already benefited four times from HOPE RDC loans, which she has repaid properly. With the next loan, she intends to diversify her business by including salted fish with the goal of growing her revenues.

Lutonadio is married and the mother of five children, ranging from 6 to 19 years of age. Five of them are in school.

« Concorde Plus » est une banque communautaire composée de 32 micro entrepreneurs dont Lutonadio N. est dirigeante. Ils se sont constitués sur base de la caution solidaire pour obtenir des microcrédits de la part de Kiva et de l’IMF HOPE RDC dans le but de développer leurs affaires.
Lutonadio N. a comme activité principale la vente de farine de maïs et de manioc dans la partie Est de Kinshasa. Elle a commencé cette cette micro entreprise en 1987. Elle a déjà bénéficié 4 fois les crédits de l’IMF HOPE RDC et a correctement remboursé. Elle compte avec le prochain prêt diversifier son affaire en y ajoutant des poissons salés dans le but d’accroitre son revenu. Lutonadio est mariée et mère de 5 enfants dont leurs âges varient entre 6 et 19 ans. Cinq d’entre eux sont scolarisés.

HOPE International has been providing small business loans and savings services to thousands of entrepreneurs in DRC since 2004. HOPE DRC targets small business owners who can use loans to increase their inventories or invest in assets that have the potential to increase their incomes. Funds from Kiva lenders play a major role in expanding access to affordable, flexible capital for micro-entrepreneurs, 80% of whom are women.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
