Emi's story

Emi T. is a 55-year-old woman living in the town of Vaimoso Jr. She is married and has twelve adult children.

Emi owns and operates a business planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables for sale. She has been engaged in this business for over a year and earns approximately 550 WST a month.

In 2008, Emi joined SPBD to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 750 WST from SPBD. This previous loan was used to purchase additional seeds, seedlings and young crops to raise.

Emi is now requesting a new loan of 1,750 WST which will again be used to purchase additional seeds, seedlings and young crops to raise. The loan will be her 2nd from SPBD. Emi plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
