A loan of $450 helped to buy 15 boxes of cookies and 10 boxes of apples.

Rafiatou's story

M. Rafiatou was born in 1966 in Sakété in Benin. She is married to RIKPOSSOU T. Jonas, a mechanic and retailer of spare parts. She has two children to support. One of them is her own and in school. For six years, she has been living with her children in the Cococodji district, not far from Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Rafiatou and Jonas support the family jointly. Rafiatou has never been to school. For five years, she has been selling cookies (wholesale and retail) and also apples out of her home and at the Cococodji parking lot. She stocks up from Dantokpa, the international market of Benin, from Nigeria, and from Togo (two countries neighboring Benin). She is a previous ALIDé client who has benefited from three ALIDé loans, which have been repaid. She would really like to grow her business more and to build a stall to sell her goods. These are the reasons why she's requesting another loan from ALIDé.
