A loan of $3,750 helped a member to increase working capital for their businesses.

Los Picaflores Group's story

The group "Los picaF." consists of 14 happy and hard-working people. They have been friends for a long time, and their ages vary from 19 to 63 years old. The president, Cristina, has 2 small children who are in elementary school. Along with her partners, she makes a living selling products, specifically wallets. The rest of the members of the group make a living selling vegetables, underwear, groceries in local stores, and other food, as well as providing a domestic cleaning service. Some have stands for selling their products, while others are mobile. They do have competitors, but these women have faithful clients who consistently acquire products from them. In case of difficulties in their businesses, they diversify their commercial activity to obtain better incomes. Some of them begin to work part time with a fixed salary from cleaning homes, and part time attending to their business. Our partners would like to take advantage of selling cosmetics by catalogue, acquiring more merchandise and materials to generate a better income, in order to proviD. their families with a better quality of life. They are undertaking their third cycle of loans, demonstrating a desire to get ahead in life, responsibility, integrity, and above all unity, which is essential in a solidarity group.
