Manuela's story

Manuela, 47, is an honest, cheerful and hard-working woman who lives in the city of Pucallpa, Ucayali region. She is a single mother of two children, who are the motivating force for her to continue forward. She sells general merchandise from a small store set up in her home. She also provides daily meals to the employees of a company. For the last 9 years she's been a member of the "Carmen Cabrejos" communal bank. Her first, 300 sol loan, was used to buy soft-drinks. She now needs a 2000 sol loan to buy grocery items and beverages to sell in her store. Manuela's goal is to enlarge her store and get ahead. In addition, she thanks the Manuela Ramos Movement for helping her to ge this far despite the many difficulties she encountered.
