A loan helped to buy some materials needed to renovate her house as part of the recovery from cyclone damage.

Seneti's story

Seneti is 40 years old. She's a married woman and she doesn't have children, but Seneti and her husband still have the courage to work hard and develop some more income for their little family.

Seneti's business is handicraft. She's self employed, including the help of her husband. They earn income weekly from their business to help them with their living expenses and also to pay back Seneti's loan.

Last February, Tonga was hit by a very strong cyclone and it affected most people's lives. Seneti's house was badly affected by the cyclone: half of the roof was blown off and the walls collapsed. She has applied for a rehabilitation loan from SPBD to buy some materials needed to renovate their house as part of the recovery from cyclone damage.

Her vision and goal for the future is to expand her business market from local sales to overseas.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
