A loan of $700 helped to buy maize, peanuts, etc.

Barikisu's story

Barikisu sells roasted corn in front of the education office near where she lives. She takes delivery of stock from Techiman, a market town in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. She is 32 years old, married and the mother of three children. Through hard work, and with support from her husband, all of her children attend school in her community.

Barikisu requests this loan to buy stock in bulk as she believes this will help her in times of price hikes. She dreams of providing her children with a high quality of life now and as they get older. She does not want any of her children to do the business she is doing; she'd rather see them through school.
