Carot Group's story

Isabella I., age 25, is unmarried. She has a daughter who is three years old named Beatrice. Isabella owns and operates a beauty salon in the Tegeta area of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She has been working in the beauty salon business since 2003, beginning when she was just 19!

The salon is open from 8:30 am until 9 pm daily, and Isabella makes a monthly profit of about $250. This is her second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. The first loan was repaid successfully and helped Isabella to maintain her salon.

With this loan, she hopes to invest in salon equipment like scissors and combs, hair weaves, shampoos and conditioners, and other products to increase the operating capacity of the salon. In the picture, Isabella is in the back row wearing red.

Isabella will share this loan with the members of her group, Carot. They will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
