A loan helped to buy a solar powered freezer to improve her grocery store business.

Mayra's story

Mayra is a teacher who lives in the community of Gracias a Dios, Honduras. She is 41 years old and lives with her two children for whom she wants to provide a good education and decent living conditions.

She has been working at a public school for 20 years and also sells groceries and other goods at home. Her goal is to grow her business and offer a wider variety of products such as dairy goods, meats and other refrigerated items. But this has not been possible because her community has no access to electricity.

Therefore Mayra is applying for a loan through Soluz Honduras to buy a solar powered freezer to help her offer better service to the community and earn more income from her business.
