Mrs. Sareth Khein Village Bank Group's story

The village bank loan consists of seventeen people and they all live in Veal Thom village in Kandal province. Mrs. Sareth K. is the village bank president who has been selected by the members. She is a fish seller in the local village. Since this business is going well, she wants to expand it so she is asking for a loan to buy more fish to re-sell. Her husband, Mr. Prak Ny, is a ferry driver who makes a small income to support the family. Mrs. Sareth K. is 38 years-old and the mother of four children, one of whom is a blacksmith while another one is a laborer. The third one is attending the local school and the youngest one is too young to work or study. Mr. Seng P. and Mr. Okyday C. did not come to take a loan but their wives did, so they are present in the picture instead.
