A loan of $1,050 helped to buy fertilizers.

Marlene's story

Marlene, 36, lives with her 3 children in her own home. For the past 3 years she has raised and sold cattle. She started this business with a loan, which she invested very well. Now she has sheep and also grows alfalfa with which to feed her animals because it's important that they be healthy since that's the only way they will be sold for a good price at the cattle fair. Her children help her with her field tasks and her wish for the future is to increase the size of her herd so that her profits will be greater. This is her ninth loan with MFP. She is committed to her communal bank and she wants to continue to progress together with her group. The funds requested this time will be used to buy sacks of fertilizer since she will be planting greater areas of alfalfa as well as potatoes.
