Paix Plus Group's story

Evelyne M. is the president of a group named "La Paix Plus", which is composed of 29 micro-entrepreneurs united in solidarity to advance their small businesses by means of micro-loans obtained from world lenders via Kiva and the micro-finance institution HOPE RDC. Evelyne lives in the most mountainous area located west of the city of Kinshasa where she operates her business. Her business consists in delivering bread in her district and surrounding areas. It generates a weekly profit of $66 for her.

She is a loyal client of HOPE RDC. She has received four loans before, which she has repaid properly. With the next loan, she intends to open another outlet with the goal of meeting the needs of her customers and to increase profits. Her ambition is to achieve five delivery outlets for bread with the aim of growing her income.

Evelyne is 38 years old, married, and the mother of five children, who range from 3 to 19 years of age. Three of them are in school.
