A loan of $700 helped buy supplies.

Celestina's story

Celestina G.

The result of all of her effort is a small restaurant (tripe, kebobs, grilled beef tripe, and chicken on the grill) that Celestina G. has. She and her husband built it 30 years ago.

She started this business selling on the street with a small counter and a table grill. After a while, the municipality did not permit this type of selling on the street. So, she had to rent a place. This was favorable for her because she had many customers, and she needed space to take care of them more comfortably. There were only a few tables and chairs that she could get. With great effort she was able to buy fixtures, a much larger charcoal grill, and some shelves that she needed.

Celestina gets up very early to buy the supplies she needs because the quality of her food is very important to her. She knows that she has a lot of competition. That is why she herself prepares the food and supervises waiting on the customers. Also, she has always had help from her four children. Thanks to working as a team, three of them are professionals. She is very happy that through this business she could help her siblings. They are now merchants in different fields. She helps her parents with their basic necessities as well as contributing at home. She has a niece who works with her. That way she can help her economically.

The loan is to buy supplies and renovate some of the counters that she has in her business.
