Leta's story

Leta P. lives in the town of Maagiagi. She is married and has six adult children.

Leta owns and operates a business planting and harvesting bananas for sale. She has been engaged in this business for over eight years and earns approximately 500 WST a month.

Leta joined SPBD to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 1,250 WST from SPBD. This previous loan was used to purchase fertilizer such as manure.

Leta is now requesting a new loan of 2,000 WST which will again be used to purchase fertilizer such as manure. The loan will be her 4th from SPBD. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to financially support immediate members of her family.
