A loan of $350 helped to buy nutritionally balanced feed for pigs.

Pedro's story

Pedro, 57, is a married head of household that lives with his wife and six children in the El Morante farmstead, Olmos district which is three and a half hours away from the city of Chiclayo. Four of his children are students in a local school. For more than 23 years he has raised pigs and sheep which he sells to buyers that visit his farm frequently. This activity produces his only source of income with which he meets household expenses. Pedro has thought to improve his pigs' nutrition so that he can sell them sooner. For this reason he is asking Edpyme Alternativa for his first, 1,000 sol, loan which will be used to buy nutritionally balanced feed. His greatest wish is to make improvements to his home which is built with rudimentary materials and to replace the metal sheets, that are used for shade, which are very deteriorated. He is an exemplary and responsible father.
