Rosa Evila's story

Rosa, 44, is a hard-working, dynamic woman who lives in the city of Pucallpa, Ucayali region. She has three children, two of whom are adults. She manufactures clothing in a small workshop she has in her home. Her husband, who is a lumber stevedore, supports her work. She has been a member of the “Las Caribeñas” communal bank for the past three years. Her first, 300 sol loan, was used to buy lace trim, fabric, seam finisher thread, elastics. Now she needs a 1200 sol loan which will be used to repair her sewing machine so that she can continue to work efficiently. Rosa's goal is to pay for her children's higher education and to set up a clothing store.
