Tatu's story

Tatu K. is a Tanzanian businesswoman. She has two businesses: one selling timber and the other selling charcoal. She is married and has seven children. One child is in primary school but the rest are running their own businesses. She buys timber and charcoal wholesale and then sells it at her shops in Buguruni district, Dar es Salaam. She has been in business for 10 years and her income has enabled her to build a residential house and pay her children's school fees. She is requesting a loan of 800,000 Tanzanian shillings to ramp up her business.
