A loan of $700 helped minibus repair.

Nilda's story

Nilda, 22, is single and lives in her own home; her greatest wish is to build a good life for herself. Her charisma is one of her most powerful weapons in her work since she is the person charged with collecting fares onboard minibus #12 which provides urban public transportation services on the streets of Juliaca. Her workday begins very early in the morning and doesn't end until almost 9 at night. What she most enjoys about the job is being able to converse with the passengers and make the trip more pleasant. She has had this job for two years and feels that the most difficult part of it is having to stand all day since the passengers take up all the available seats. For later in the future she would like to own her own minibus with which to work and earn her own profits. This is Nilda's fourth loan with MFP. She is aware that she needs to repay in a timely fashion and is prepared to do so since she does not want to cause any problems for her communal bank where she is a well-liked and admired member. With the 2,000 soles requested she plans to help defray repay costs for the minibus that she works on because if it breaks down she won't have a job.
