A loan of $700 helped to buy packs of soda.

Griselda's story

Griselda belongs to the “Los Diamantes” community bank in the district of Eslabón, province of Huallaga, department of San Martín. She is 51-years-old, has a domestic partner, and is the mother of 5 children, all of whom live on their own. Griselda is a woman who enjoys working, therefore she decided to open her own business selling carbonated soft drinks located in a well-equipped part of her home. She oversees the business on her own behalf without a schedule or supervisor. She says that she started out with 300.00 soles and began by buying 5 packs of soda; she saw that things were going well but that she lacked more soda, so, little by little, she began investing more. Nowadays, she maintains the same business and is well-known by her customers. This loan of 2,000.00 soles ($700) will be used to buy more beverages, such as soft drinks in different flavors, sizes, and brands, as well as carbonated and non-carbonated mineral water. Griselda has many goals for her future, and she feels very motivated to put her plans into action. She is grateful that the Movimiento Manuela Ramos gave her help when she most needed it, and she responsibly makes her payments and plans to continue doing so.
