Paquita's story

Paquita, 37, is a member of the “Patrón San Roque” communal bank located in the Sacanche district, Bellavista province, San Martín department. She lives with her life partner and her son, who is a student and still dependent upon her. Paquita relates that her life has passed through many difficulties but the enterprising spirit that has always charaterized her and her desire to get ahead in life, have served to inspire her to start her own business selling prepared meals and she has been involved in this occupation for 5 years now. Paquita sells her meals in her own house, a space that's well equipped to serve her customers. Little by little se became better known among her customers, who are her neighbors, friends and family members, for the good flavor of her meals and her sales are good. She offers meals twice a day: mornings and afternoons. With this 3,000 sol loan she will buy ingredients for her meals like: sacks of rice and sugar, chickens, flats of eggs, bunches of bananas, pastas and oil by the dozen as well as kitchen utensils to provide better quality service. Paquita, like she is refered to affectionately, feels empowered to continue with her food sales. She is grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement for contributing to her reaching her dreams and goals.
