Elsa's story

Elsa, 57, is a dynamic and optimistic woman who lives in the city of Yarinacocha, Ucayali region. She is the mother of nine children. She sells sweets and refreshing drinks from her home. Her husband, who works selling lumber, supports her activities. She has been a member of the “Nuevo Edén” communal bank for the past 8 years. Her first, 300 sol loan, was used to buy sweets. With this 2,000 sol loan she will buy a display case and sweets for her shop. She also wants to buy a lot on which to set up a fish farm for this is her goal: to raise fish for sale. She stated that it is thanks to the credit from Manuela Ramos Movement that she is growing in her business.
