A loan helped to buy a decent motorcycle for Hoeurn to use to take her groceries to market to sell.

Hoeurn's story

Hoeurn is 37 years old, widowed and the mother of two children, one of whom is in school, while the other is still too young to attend. The family lives in Kampot Province, Cambodia.

Hoeurn farms rice and sells groceries to earn an income. She has been able to save about 6 USD every day in the past several years.

This will be Hoeurn’s second loan cycle with Kiva's field partner VisionFund, and she paid off that loan on time. That loan resulted in improved living conditions for her family. She has now applied for a 4,000,000 KHR loan to buy a decent motorcycle to use to deliver her groceries to market in a timely manner. This loan will help her cut down on transportation costs and save more money for her child’s education.

This loan is special because:

It supports the social and economic well-being of low-income families.
