A loan of $425 helped to buy fertilizers to help his coffee plantation.

Jose Maria's story

José is 52 years old. He is married and has five children. He lives with his wife and their children in the town of La Campa, Lempira, which adjoins Gracias.

He has been working in coffee farming for eight years. His planting is in an agricultural community in the sector, where he raises coffee of excellent quality, which he distributes in the zone. This is the principal source of his income. Previously he worked in making products of mud and clay.

He is applying for 10,000 lempiras for the purchase of fertilizers to help his coffee plantation. This will allow him to improve his harvests and to sell his crop at a better price.

His plan is to improve his harvests and give his family a better quality of life.
