Chasquis Group's story

The entrepreneurial bank, Las Chasquis, has worked with our institution since 1997. It is a bank characterized by the fact that the majority of its members are old. Additionally, in this time, they have achieved to consolidate themselves as a group and establish bonds of friendship. Lidia is one of the founders and is the president of the bank. She is dedicated to selling bread. With the loan, she has been able to supply herself with the main needs to perform her activity, being able to buy flour, sugar, butter, and yeast, at wholesale, thereby ensuring that rising prices don't damage her. Lidia is head of her household since she is separated from her husband. Through expansion and diversification of her products, she has managed to improve her income and also her orders.

Esther lives in a popular area of the city of La Paz. She has a large family. She is an old participant in the bank and currently is the treasurer. Mrs. Calderón is dedicated to making and selling bread from her home. With the loan she can buy flour per hundredweight. This enables her to increase her production thereby improving her quality of life.

Daniela is a young participant, but one of the founders of the group. Currently, she occupies the job of secretary. She works selling beauty products. With the loan, she will buy perfumes, deodorants, talcs, and jewelry in bulk and at discount which will allow her to save so she may pursue her education and finish university.
