A loan of $700 helped to increase her merchandize.

Ketty's story

Ketty is a very friendly woman; she is 34 years old and lives in her own home with her partner and father of her 5 children.

Since two years ago, she sells basic foodstuffs in her home in a place especially made for her small store. Her husband adapted some wood planks to serve as a stand, where she now displays her products.

During this time, her small store has become very well known in her area. Because of this, Ketty works very hard to give her customers, who are mostly her neighbors, the best attention. Sometimes they ask for products that she doesn’t have, and that saddens her but she is sure that with perseverance and courtesy for her customers, her business will grow. Her biggest wish is to have her store full of all types of products and in this way she can help her husband with the household expenses.

This is her second loan with MFP (Kiva’s field partner) she is the president of her communal bank, and to all of her colleagues she instills in them the need for them to pay all of their quotas on time so they can keep getting loans. To make her dreams come true, Ketty needs this money, which she will invest in buying merchandize for her small store.
