Yean N., 31 years old, lives with other family members in Kompong Tom province in Cambodia. His wife named Chenglim, 31, is in the picture. The couple has a small daughter who is a clever student, learning in the local primary school. To earn a living, the family retails beds that they produce or buy from carpenters. They own a trailer-motorbike which they use to pick up beds to sell door-to-door around the community, and they usually generate an income of US$ 10 per day to buy food for their family.

Recently, Yean N. has ordered many sets of beds on credit from his carpenter but he doesn’t have enough money to pay his supplier. Because of that, he decided to request a loan of US$ 500 loan from Kiva’s partner HKL.
