A loan of $700 helped purchase fertilizers.

Epifania's story

Epifania is 38 years old, married, and lives with her two children in their home. Seven years ago she planted plantains in her in-law’s fields under her husband’s guidance. Since then, she doesn’t have to work stranger’s land; instead, she takes cares for her parcel of land.

When they have to cut down plants to clean their land, her husband wakes up before dawn and she prepares his lunch. Over the years, Epifania has seen her economic situation improve and is very happy with her fields of plantains (since she is making money with each harvest).

But this isn’t enough; she has been selling sausage and French fries from her door in the afternoons for a year. She earns extra income this way, and this motivates her to keep working for the good of her children.

This is her second loan with MFP and she is very grateful for the support her communal bank provides. She will buy chemical fertilizers for her plantains with the loan money.
