A loan of $350 helped buy fabric.

Karin's story

Karin, 36, lives with her husband and their two children in the house that she inherited from her parents. For eight years she has been making different articles of clothing. Her basic work tool is her sewing machine. She works in her shop, which is in her house, everyday. Generally, the orders that she has are from educational institutions to make school uniforms. But, she also offers her services to fix clothes. She raises hems, sews on buttons, and others. She occasionally has help from her oldest daughter who helps her during her free time. In the future, Karin wants to have a better dressmaking shop that is well equipped so that her clothes can be of better quality.

This is the third loan that she has had with MFP. She likes to promote unity in her communal bank, and her group appreciates her for that. She will use the money she is asking for to buy fabric and needles. During this Christmas season she will make various clothes for children and take them to sell in other cities.
