Diotilia's story

DIOTILIA A. I., 49, lives in the district of Florencia de Mora, province of Trujillo, department of La Libertad, Peru, and belongs to the Communal Bank La Perbola. She studied up to the 5th grade of secondary school, is married and has four children, of which two are financially dependent on her.

She works in the manufacturing and sale of shoes for women and children. With her first loan of 300 new soles, she bought materials for manufacturing shoes such as leather, buckles, heels, soles, lasts etc. With this new loan of 600 new soles, she will buy buckles, glue, lasts, insoles etc. to make her footwear. Diotilia dreams of having her own workshop for manufacturing footwear to thereby increase her sales and obtain more profits.
