A loan of $850 helped to buy bags of maize.

Adwoa's story

Adwoa is a 42 year old married mother of 6 children, all of whom are still in school. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a town called Kade in the eastern region of Ghana.

Kade is a commercial town. However, a majority of the inhabitants practice farming as a hobby or as a major occupation alongside other trading activities.

Adwoa is a food vendor. She prepares and sells a local dish called kenkey. It is served hot with pepper and fried fish. She sells by the roadside in the day time. Adwoa buys the goods from nearby communities.

She has been in business for 12 years and wants a loan to procure bags of maize and other ingredients in bulk to expand her business.
