Eco Andino Group's story

In Pro Mujer's Focal Center "Alto Lima", one of its older groups "Eco Andino" is found. It has been in existence for approximately 14 years and has 12 members. Its president is Albertina Y. who makes traditional handicrafts featuring scenes of villages, llamas, etc., on a loom or frame. She says that she started her business about 20 years ago but in recent years her production has decreased because she isn't able to find a market in which to put up her products. So she is requesting a small loan to buy wool. In the future she would like to change businesses. The rest of the members of the group also have different businesses such as selling vegetables, running a store, clothes making, and sweater making. They need the loan to purchase foods, raw materials, and merchandise.

In this group: Albertina, Victoria, Maria Luisa, Maria Norah*, Betty Reyna*, Filomena, Florencia Susy, Andrea, Dolores, Petronilda Gabina, Wilma, Elvira
