A loan of $650 helped to buy artificial hair and other materials for her salon.

Beatrice's story

Beatrice is a 36-year-old married young woman with three children who all attend school. She lives with her children and husband in a rented apartment in a town called Kade in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Though Kade is a commercial town, the majority of the inhabitants are into farming as a hobby or as a major occupation alongside other trading activity. Beatrice is a hairdresser by profession. She runs a salon by the roadside in her community. According to Beatrice, she has trained a number of apprentices who have set up their own salons. Beatrice has been in business for over fifteen years and requests a loan to buy artificial hair and other materials to improve her salon services.
