A loan helped a member to buy peanut paste and clothing for retail.

Bineta's Group's story

These 22 women live in the same village and are members of the same "banc villageois". Their "banc villageois", which was created in May 2011, is the oldest of the CAURIE-MF in that region.

Madam Eliane, who has her hand raised in the picture, represents the group. She is 65 years old. She joined the "banc villageois" since its inception and she is the current chair. She is a widow and the mother of 6 children, including 5 boys. For more than 5 years, Madam Eliane has had a peanut paste and clothing retail business.

Their village is located 3 kms away from a large weekly market held every Thursday, which makes it easy for her to sell her goods. With this loan, she wants to buy 5 pails of peanut paste and 25 sets of clothing. She will use the profit from her retail business to take care of her children.
