María Luisa's story

Sra. María Luisa is a member of the Hope Communal Bank, which is in the District of Juanjui, Mariscal Cáceres Province, Department of San Martín. She is 39 years old, in a common law marriage, and has 2 dependent children.

Her desire to succeed and dream of seeing her children become professionals motivated her to start her own grocery business. The proceeds from her business have enabled her to financially support her household. She has been gaining customers from the very beginning. Today she has a fixed clientele who come to her store to shop because she has all the necessities one could ever need. María Luisa welcomes each customer with her charming personality.

She started her business with initial capital of 1000 soles and built up her savings gradually over time. María Luisa keeps separate accounts to differentiate her business expenses from her personal expenses. The income from her savings continues to grow every day.

María Luisa is now requesting a loan of 3000 soles to buy rice, sugar, cookies, packaged noodles, salt, and milk. She also plans to acquire a refrigerator to store different meats so that she can continue providing good service to her customers.

María Luisa looks forward to continue working with Manuela Ramos. She thanks the organization for helping women like her and providing them with opportunities to develop in the communities where they operate.
