A loan of $350 helped purchase toys for Christmastime.

Angelica Maria's story

Angelica Maria C. H. is 24 years old and the mother of a 1-year, 8-month old daughter. She studied for a cosmetic dermatology degree at a state-run school. Three years ago her mother and siblings supported her with a small loan that she needed to start selling some groceries from a space in her home. At first she purchased rice, noodles, soft drinks, diapers. shampoo and cookies, and with time earned an income thanks to her hard work and perseverance. She reinvested her profits in merchandise for her small business, which she moved to her mother-in-law's house. With additional loans she was able to purchase some ice cream and cosmetic equipment because in the future she plans to set up a beauty salon since there isn't one in her area. Thanks to her sales, she is able to help her husband with family expenses, like food and health care, since neither has insurance. She is requesting a loan to purchase toys because Christmastime is nearing and in this way she can continue supporting her family.
